The environment and heritage sites around the quarry are highly valued by the owners of the company and they will go to big length to protect it. 

The site area is located some 58 km west of Usakos town. Erongo Region, on the south south-western side of Klein Spitzkoppe. The site is accessible via D1918 off B2 highway towards Henties Bay and right next to the Spitzkoppe Mountain. African Granite Company (Pty) Ltd. owns two mining licences within this area namely ML50B and ML50C. The area shows intensive granite block mining activities that took place from 1998 until 2008. The local geology is comprised of granite, syenite, foyaite, rhyolite, gabbro and norite of Cretaceous age i.e. 145.5 Ma to 65.5 Ma.
